About Brett
Originally born in Dallas, Brett grew up in Houston where he attended Klein Forest High School. He was then recruited to play baseball in College and graduated from Sam Houston State University in 1994. After college Brett began his career at State Farm where he would work in their Learning and Development Dept for over 20 years. Brett is married to Jennifer and they have raised 3 amazing kids, Brendon, Emily and Luke.
During his corporate years Brett never lost his passion for baseball and began coaching his sons and then was introduced to softball when his daughter started playing. Over the years Brett coached baseball at all levels from t-ball to high school fall and summer programs along with different levels of select softball.
Brett finally left the corporate world to began his own business, Off The Field Performance Coaching with a straightforward purpose…to help student athletes realize their full potential. Brett helps student athletes with their mental performance with the skills and certifications he collected and studied for during his days as an Executive Coach and a Learning and Development Specialist. Brett performs workshops, talks to teams, speaks at events and conducts mental performance sessions with high school programs across Texas.
In addition, Brett began to take on hitting students in his spare time and soon after started OTF Performance HItting and is now one of the premier hitting instructors in the state. Brett works out of the Texas Hit Lab in Leander, TX and has students ranging from 8U to Division 1 college players.
Brett is also the Mental Performance Director of Texas Blaze Fastpitch, a premier select softball program with national level teams all over the country. He also couldn’t shake off the coaching bug and took the head coaching position of the 16U Texas Blaze Gold team out of central Texas.
Brett resides in Leander, Texas with his wife, Jennifer, and loves spending what little spare time he has traveling with his wife, watching movies and reading books/novels.
